I recently made a mistake in an effort to start a real estate professionals group on the digital point forums.  I posted a do follow blog list in a thread at digital point without linking back to the source.  With this error, I alienated a great group of bloggers by causing a massive influx of spammers to their sites.

I later ran into a great blog post that I should have read prior to joining the blogosphere on The 5 deadly sins of blogging.  If I would have read this list, I wouldn’t have committed such a blatant faux pas of not giving credit where credit is due. However, I may have still made the mistake of alienating a number of the bloggers included on Eric Bramlett’s real estate do follow blog list.  So, I have decided to make an addition to the above cited list of the deadly sins of blogging:

6.    Though shall not post do follow lists to digital point as the webmasters on those lists will get a huge influx of spammers.  Since blog webmasters work very hard at keeping spam off their blogs, this is a sure fire way to build a bad reputation in the blogosphere.

If any of you guys on Eric’s list end up reading this post, I would like to say I am sorry about adding to your headaches.

It’s not that big of a deal, and you didn’t alienate anyone. I know you’re relatively new to blogging, and mistakes happen. It’s water under the bridge.
