I recently had an article about the healthiest housing markets in the country brought to my attention today by a colleague of mine who works as a corporate lawyer. The article ranked Houston as the most healthy real estate market in the country. If you have been following the inventory reports here on Houston housing market you probably gathered that our situation was much better than the rest of the nation. After reading the article I thought it was interesting and felt like it was worth making available to my readers here. It cites a number of the things we have discussed over the last few months as reasons for our markets health. Those being our continued population growth, the 65,000 jobs the Houston metro area added in 2008, building permits down only 30% from the peak witnessed in 2005 and rebuilding after Hurricane Ike.

In addition to the good fortune of the Houston market praise was also given to each of our closest neighboring cities here in Texas as the top five cities were all from Texas. If you would like to read the whole story I have provided a link to it below.
